IETA and Koelnmesse have chosen to locate the event in Singapore due to its strategic location within Asia and its advanced finance industry. More importantly, there is a growing carbon industry in Asia. In 2006, the global carbon market was worth US$30 billion dollars, of which Asia is a major selling region for carbon emissions reductions, responsible for around 75% of the reductions achieved under the global Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).
CARBON FORUM ASIA 2007 is anticipating to exceed the successes of last year's event, CARBON EXPO ASIA 2006, held in Beijing, China. This year's Trade Fair and Conference is expected to see more than 1,200 participants from 50 countries, and 120 exhibitors from 25 countries.
