Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (Hitachi GST), one of the world's leading hard disk drive suppliers, on February 23 announced it has established a customer support and services company in Shanghai to strengthen its commitment to its customers in China.

Hitachi Global Storage Technologies Consulting (Shanghai) Co Ltd will provide support services related to logistics and warranty and assist in all aspects of service for Chinese customers. This makes Hitachi GST one of the only multinational hard disk drive providers to offer local support services in China.

Pete Andreyev, chairman of the board of Hitachi Global Storage Technologies Consulting (Shanghai) Co. Ltd made a speech at the opening ceremony on February 23.
The new operation will focus on servicing international OEMs, Chinese mainland-based manufacturers and ODMs based in Taiwan Province.

"With the new Shanghai Consulting Company, Hitachi GST further demonstrates its leadership in this territory," said Jun Naruse, CEO, Hitachi Global Storage Technologies.

The team at Hitachi Global Storage Technologies Consulting (Shanghai) Co Ltd will initially comprise six experts, including technical specialists who can demonstrate products and conduct training sessions.

The team will be expanded by the end of the year, under the leadership of Pete Andreyev, an industry veteran who continues to head Hitachi GST's overall sales for Asia Pacific alongside his additional responsibilities as chairman of the board of the new customer support and services company.
