The People's Republic of China has applied for a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Xi'an Urban Transport Project.

It is expected that the Invitation for Bids will be made in February, 2004.

Interested eligible Applicants may obtain further information from China International Tendering Company (CITC) and inspect the Prequalification Document at the address below, between 9:00 am and 11:00 am/14:00 and 16:00 (Beijing Time) from November 24, 2003 (except holidays).

The Prequalification Document, in the English language, may be purchased by interested Applicants on the submission of a written application at the office of China International Tendering Company, between 9:00 am and 11:00 am /2:00 pm and 4:00 pm (Beijing Time) starting from November 21, 2003 (except holidays) at the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of 1,200 yuan or US$140. The method of payment will be cash, check or directly deposit to our account. For mail order, please add 120 yuan or US$25. ITC will promptly dispatch the documents by registered airmail. No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

Applications must be delivered to employer (address below) at or before 5:00 pm on January 30, 2004. The employer reserves the right to accept or reject late applications.

The employer will not be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by Applicants in connection with the preparation or delivery of their Applications.

The employer will notify all applicants in writing of the names of those applicants who have been prequalified.
